Hiking & Activities
Whether it's hiking on Tenerife, mountain biking, golfing or exploring the island by car. OCÉANO is the ideal starting point for all of these activities. And when you return from your trip full of impressions and experiences, OCÉANO offers a sanctuary of relaxation. We have put a few offers together for you in the following.
Many walks can be started directly from the hotel. There are numerous routes to take around the island through a variety of landscapes and with a year-round optimal hiking climate. Our experienced German-speaking guide will be happy to accompany you on these walks and also to show you the unspoiled places on the island.
Through the Anaga Mountains from Punta del Hidalgo to Chinamada
You can start one of the most beautiful trails on Tenerife right from the hotel. The former Chinamada cave village can be reached from Punta del Hidalgo, via the La Fajana beach to the Roque de los dos Hermanos. From there, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the rugged north coast. The trail also passes by ochre coloured cliffs, natural landscapes and deep caves. Terraced fields planted with potatoes and pumpkins line the paths. After climbing through diverse nature, you will reach Chinamada with its approximately 30 authentic cave dwellings.
In the Teno Mountains through the Masca Gorge
On a demanding trek through the Masca Gorge in the Teno Mountains, you will encounter fascinating flora. Flanked by cliffs several hundred metres high, this canyon is a unique natural monument. You will happen upon mulberry, almond and fig trees, date palms, agaves and prickly pears. The descent through this tropical-looking, picturesque countryside is an unforgettable experience.
In the Teide National Park Montaña Blanca
Your expedition to Tenerife's landmark begins at the foot of the mountain in the Teide National Park. The route takes you past the slopes of Montaña Blanca, the white pumice mountain. The landscape is shaped by volcanic activity: lava clumps and unusual plants such as the Teide viper's bugloss dominate the environment. From up high, you can enjoy the view of the city of La Orotava
The location of OCÉANO is also ideal for mountain bikers. The slopes of the 3717 metre-high Mount Teide or ancient laurel forest with colourful heather and spectacular gorges provide a special charm when conquering the altitude.

It will now have international protection as a sustainable ecosystem of biodiversity.
It includes both terrestrial and marine zones and is known for its diversity of reptiles, birds and fish. Anaga is constantly held up by the island authorities as a shining example of how locals and the unspoilt environment live in perfect harmony.
